The Smell Lives Below the Surface
Rinsing turf moves residue around. It does not remove it. Pet urine drains through the backing and leaves ammonia salts and organic film bonded to the infill, and that is the layer a hose will never reach. Our odor and residue treatment breaks that layer down so the extractor can pull it out.
Where residue collects
The trouble spots are predictable:
- The corner the dogs always use — the highest concentration of urine salts in the yard
- The shaded strip along a north wall that never fully dries between rinses
- Under the patio table where food, drinks and grease work down into the infill
- Low spots and misted areas around pools, planters and drip lines
Even in a dry climate, those micro-zones stay damp long enough for residue to build into a film that holds odor through the summer.
Why it pairs with a deep clean
The treatment works best on a clear surface. Loose debris and matted fibers shield the residue underneath and soak up product before it can reach anything. That is why we run it as the final wet step: power-broom and vacuum first, then treat, then extract. The turf is already open, so the formula reaches the backing instead of stopping at the top of the blades.
