Artificial turf does not wear out so much as it fills up. Dust, pet waste and organic residue work down past the blades into the infill, and once that layer is packed the surface goes flat, holds heat and starts to smell in summer. Rinsing the top does very little about it. The photos below are from jobs where that build-up was removed rather than covered up.

Pet areas and dog runs

Pet areas are where turf fails first. Urine drains through the blades and settles in the infill and backing underneath, which is why a yard can look spotless and still turn sharp in July. These are the spots we spend the most time on.

Backyards, patios and pool decks

Most of our work is residential turf that gets walked on daily and rinsed rarely. Dust blows in, organic residue builds up in the infill, and the surface goes flat and grey long before the turf itself is worn out.

The crew and the equipment

Every job runs the same four steps: power broom to lift the matted fibres, vacuum to pull out the loosened debris, spray to break down the organic residue underneath, then fresh infill to reset the surface. These are photos from partway through that sequence.
