Stop Odors at the Source

Infill is the granular material that sits between the turf fibers. Standard sand infill is fine for non-pet yards, but for any home with dogs, odor-controlling infill is a game-changer. It traps ammonia molecules from urine and neutralizes them before they can build up.

How it works

Where ordinary silica sand is just inert filler, odor-controlling infill is engineered with antimicrobial and absorptive properties. As urine drains through, the granules capture the ammonia compounds and inhibit the bacteria that feed on them — interrupting the exact cycle that makes a pet yard smell. Think of it as switching from a passive base layer to one that’s actively working on odor between every cleaning.

When to Refresh

  • After a major odor extraction (we add fresh infill on the way out)
  • Every 12–18 months as part of regular maintenance
  • After heavy rains that may have displaced existing infill
  • When fibers won’t stand up anymore or the surface feels thin and spongy

The bonus you’ll feel

Fresh infill does more than fight odor. It re-supports the fibers so the lawn stands tall and looks fuller, adds a bit of cushioning underfoot, and helps the turf surface stay cooler and drain properly through our monsoon downpours. It’s one of the most underrated upgrades for an older pet-home lawn.

Infill is the granular material brushed down between the turf fibers. It supports the blades, adds cushioning and helps the lawn drain. In pet homes the type of infill matters a lot — standard silica sand does nothing for smell, while odor-controlling infill actively traps and neutralizes the ammonia from urine before it can build up and stink.
